Sinossi

In the Himalayan chain, in the remote mountain desert valley of Zanskar, at altitudes ranging from 3000 to 7000 meters, local populations have always depended on glaciers. These glaciers melt during spring, providing the necessary water for agriculture and life. However, in recent decades, the scenario has changed: increasing temperatures have caused glacier reduction and water scarcity, leading to the disappearance of many villages. Today, in an unequal battle against climate change, the Ladakhi are constructing artificial glaciers. They blend traditional techniques with modern practices to counter water shortages in spring and contribute to groundwater replenishment.
