Aurélien Laplace

Born in 1980 in Epernay, Aurélien Laplace studied editing before dedicating himself to writing and directing. As the author and director of seven short films, he uses comedy to bring a fresh and offbeat perspective to themes close to his heart: • Hypocrisy in “Le Graffiti” (170 selections and 26 awards) • Political communication in “Une poignée de main historique” (Winner of the 2016 Nikon Film Festival Grand Jury Prize, with over 100 selections). • Whimsical love in “Le Premier Pas” (80 festival selections, including Colcoa, Festroia, and 14 awards). • Religious excesses in “Borderline” • Urban solitude in “SoloS” His latest short film, Le Dérapage, is currently on the festival circuit. Aurélien Laplace has also directed the music video “Get into your head” for Seldom Colin. As a novelist, he has published two books: • “Le Testament” (2022). • “L’Épicerie Monstre” (2024). Upcoming Projects: He is currently developing a humorous mini-series about historical photographs and working on his first feature film.
