Synopsis

1944, Val di Sole, the last year of the war: the arrival in the village of Vermiglio of Pietro, a Sicilian veteran, upsets the daily routine of the Graziadei family, sternly led by their teacher Cesare. While Lucia, the oldest daughter, falls in love with the soldier, her younger sister Ada struggles with her own desires. A secret, hidden by Pietro, will drag the family into a cycle of loss and rebirth, punctuated by the changing seasons. Delpero returns to the subject of bonds, women and motherhood, painting a fresco that, in small stories, insufflates the breath of Great History.
