Synopsis

1952, Angelo leaves Italy to go to work in France, he has a three-month contract but he does not return as planned. With this gesture, he decides the trajectory of his wife and daughter who will join him in 1953, leaving their home, their family, their land for a country of which they know nothing. It is their story, to them, so little heard, that I try to recompose.

Biography and filmography

Noémi Aubry - Filmmaker, trained in 16mm editing (CLCF) and graduated in Visual Anthropology at EHESS. She is co-creator of the documentary production association Ozho Naayé, co-founder of the Journal Femmes Photographes and a member of L'abominable, a film laboratory.  His two feature documentaries - And We Will Throw the Sea Behind You co-directed in 2015 and Baska bir dag, another mountain co-directed in 2017 - have been selected in some fifty international festivals including the Cinema du Réel, If Istanbul, Doc Cévennes, MARFICI, Salé Women's Film Festival (Special Mention of the Jury) and screened more than 200 times. Noémi Aubry, through her documentary projects, questions this society on issues of territory, population movements, exile and identity.
