After a wild boar hunt, a young man is invited by a girl to join the community’s celebration. Among dances and collective rituals, he seems to find his place, until his body slowly begins to rise towards the Moon, pulled by a mysterious force. Created in stop motion, Tethered is a poetic story about belonging, invisible forces and the boundary between the earthly world and the realm of imagination.
Alessandro Cino Zolfanelli is an Italian filmmaker and animator based in London. His stop-motion short Tethered, which he wrote, directed and animated, has been selected by international festivals including Annecy and LIAF.
