Africa is exploited for its wealth of minerals, essential for technological production. Speculation and waste pervade African lands and peoples, exposing a system of toxic and harmful supre- macism. In the midst of mountains of garbage, this film-manifesto is born: an indignant appeal to the world demanding accountability for the consequences of capitalism, colonialism and environmental destruction in Africa.
Kantarama Gahigiri is a Rwandan-Swiss writer and director born in Geneva. She explores themes of identi- ty, migration, and empowerment through projects filmed in both Switzerland and East Africa. Kantarama has participated in prestigious programs including La Fabrique Cinéma at Cannes (2019), Berlinale Talents (2021).
