In a remote farmhouse, a woman tries to attract a mischievous house spirit – a Nordic Nisse – with offerings of food. Spring is near, but winter’s chill still lingers. During the night, ghosts move through the house, and the elf slips into the woman’s dream. At dawn he vanishes, but something has changed: spring has arrived. Dreamlike and evocative, Spring captures the suspended atmosphere of rural homes, where supernatural presences shape everyday life and usher in new seasons.

Pernille Kjaer (1989) is a Danish independent animation filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist. Former student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Aarhus, she completed her studies with a BA in character animation from The Animation Workshop in Viborg, Denmark. Her work encompasses short animated films, as well as prints, paintings, and sculptures.
