Sorina Gajewski (*1994) is a freelance writer and director based in Berlin. Shortly after graduating from high school, she directed her first short film, which won first prize at the Bundesfestival Junger Film in Halle in 2014. After completing her studies in film and photography at the CIEVYC Film School in Buenos Aires (2015-2018), she has been studying directing at the DFFB since 2018. Her latest short film, "This is the last time, that I’m doing this," was screened at various festivals, including Achtung Berlin!, the 44th Moscow IFF, and is represented by AG Kurzfilm. In 2022, she received funding from the BKM for the documentary "First Taste" (30 min, Guinea), which was featured at the Market Place at DOK Leipzig 2023 and won the UN Prize of the WFF in 2024. She was invited to the HerArts Lab and the Torino Next Feature Lab for the development of her second feature film script. Her work often explores political themes, particularly feminism and social injustice.
