Mercurio
Special mention for directing, sound and artistic direction
Mercurio is a kid who loves cycling. One day he is stopped by the Fascist regime and incarcerated in a transit camp, ready to be sent to a concentration camp. Forced to quickly become a man, he will try, fighting unarmed, to win against the horror of Fascism and gain absolute freedom.
Michele Bernardi is one of the most important Italian animators and cartoonists, author of significant collaborations in television, music and advertising. In the eighties he worked on the TV series La Pimpa, created by Altan. He made over thirty animated music videos for many famous bands, like Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, Le luci della centrale elettrica, Zen Circus. In 2012 he made the animated short film Djuman, presented at the Annecy Int. Animation Festival and selected in several important festivals. In 2018 he concluded the realization of Mercurio, which lasted over four years.
