Synopsis

The Hogar is a place of paradoxes: an Italo-Argentine religious centre for single mothers, where the precocious motherhood of young adolescents coexists with the chastity vow of the nuns who take care of them, amidst rigid rules and Christian love. Sister Paola is a young novice who has just arrived in Buenos Aires from Italy to take her perpetual vows. Lu and Fati, both 17, are little girls abruptly transformed into mothers. Delpero investigates the theme of motherhood with profound delicacy, through the portrait of three women whose lives intersect and influence each other.
