Filmed in 2018, Voyage à Gaza now appears as the poignant memory of a city and an urban fabric that no longer exist. Everything the director captured seven years ago – restaurants, apartments, gathering places for young people – has been reduced to rubble by Israeli bombings. Free and poetic, the documentary, completed in September 2023, already stands as a fragment of historical memory. A humanist act of resistance that reaffirms the right to life in what was already an open-air prison and has now become the stage for genocidal policies.

Piero Usberti (1992) studied philosophy in Turin. A filmmaker and actor, he lived in Gaza for three months in 2018 and directed his debut feature documentary, Journey into Gaza (2024), which earned a CNC Special Mention at Cinéma du Réel.
