The Regina Pacis was the largest Centre of Temporary Stay in Italy. From 1998 to 2005 it hosted more than 65 thousand migrants. It was left abandoned for many years before being transformend in a luxury resort. The restoration, though, brought to the surface the indelible marks of a past made of violence and abuse.

Mattia Epifani was born in Lecce in 1985. Among his main works we find: Rockman (2011); Il Successore (2015), winner of the Cipputi Award at the 33rd Torino Film Festival and selected in competition at IDFA, Hot Docs. In 2018, he directed the short film Et In Terra Pacis, presented in competition at the 36th Torino Film Festival and winner of Rai Cinema Channel at the 20th European Cinema Festival.
