Synopsis
<p><em>Deep Rising </em>delves into one of our century’s least-known industrial operations: deep-sea mi- ning. In the name of the ecological transition, and against a backdrop of geopolitical crisis, un-scrupulous companies are embarking on a frenzied race to secure the rights to extract marine nodules. Formed over many millions of years, rich in the rare metals that are vital for battery production, these resources lie at the heart of a fragile ecosystem several kilometres below the surface.</p>
Biography and filmography
<p>Matthieu Rytz is a producer award-winning film director. His passion for storytelling has led him across the globe to witness and document complex human and environmental stories. Matthieu specializes in crea- ting multidisciplinary projects using film, still images and virtual reality; using whatever medium best ser- ves the story.</p>
