Maki Yoshikura is a Japanese animator who lives and works in London. She has worked as a freelance 2D animator since 2000, working at different studios on all sorts of projects from commercials to films. At the end of 2017, Maki won funding to make a short animated film for UK's Channel 4's Random Acts programme. It was a great experience for her to direct a team and to make a film of her own. This has given her the itch to do more of her own work whenever possible, and she is already thinking about the next film she would like to direct.
