Simposio Euganeo

Over the centuries, the Euganean Hills have maintained a significant tradition of viticulture. This tradition has provided economic support for local residents while simultaneously helping to preserve a landscape defined by harmony, color, grace, and refinement. Contrasting with this harmonious quality is the area's volcanic nature—partially hidden from view—which lends the landscape a rugged, fascinating, unsettling, and wild character. Poets have often focused on these contrasts; reading literary excerpts from both ancient and modern authors allows one to grasp a significant aspect of the Euganean landscape.

The conversation will be introduced by Beatrice Damiani, Vice President of the Fondazione Essenziale ETS. The discussion will feature: Elisa Stocchiero, Sommelier and Wine & Beer Educator. She has worked in the wine industry for over 12 years, collaborating with Euganean Hills wineries and organizing events, tastings, and educational projects dedicated to the world of wine. Paolo Gobbi, born in Marostica in 1957 and a resident of Padua. He is the author of numerous books about the region and serves as president of the Parco Letterario® Francesco Petrarca e dei Colli Euganei (Francesco Petrarca and Euganean Hills Literary Park) cultural association, which is part of the Parchi Letterari® network.

8:00 PM Tasting of wines and local products Simposio Euganeo will be followed by a tasting of wines and local products (a selection of three wines and three types of crostini); reservations required.
