Raggelante studio di umiliazione e ossessione che mescola mondo del circo, melodramma e sfumature simboliche, He Who Gets Slapped – capolavoro del maestro svedese Victor Sjöström – è sonorizzato dal vivo da Laura Augusdei (sax tenore, elettronica), Stefano Pilia (chitarra elettrica, elettronica) e Antonio Raia (sax, chalumeau, oggetti).&nbsp;
Laura Agnusdei è una sassofonista e musicista elettronica bolognese. Il suo primo album da solista Laurisilva (The Wormhole, 2019) si sviluppa su suoni e immaginari legati al funzionamento delle foreste. La sua attività dal vivo l’ha vista esibirsi in diversi festival in Europa, aprendo concerti per artisti come Colin Stetson e Moor Mother.
Stefano Pilia è un chitarrista, bassista e compositore. In diversi progetti, porta avanti una ricerca sempre tesa all'esperienza sonora come possibilità di indagine filosofica e creativa. Dal 2015, è una delle chitarre degli Afterhours, prima (2008-2016) aveva fatto parte di Massimo Volume.&nbsp;
Antonio Raia è un sassofonista, compositore e improvvisatore, di Napoli. Asylum è il suo primo album (Clean Feed Records, 2018). Dal 2020 lavora anche come compositore di colonne sonore per il cinema – si cita la collaborazione nel film Gli ultimi giorni dell’umanità di Enrico Ghezzi e Alessandro Gagliardo (Matango, Rai Cinema, Luce Cinecittà, 2022).&nbsp;
Simone Cavina è un batterista e percussionista nato a Imola e residente a Bologna. Da sempre alla ricerca di una cifra stilistica personale nell’approccio allo strumento, si appassiona presto al jazz e all’improvvisazione, ambito che concorre a definire fortemente il suo stile in sintesi e dialogo costante con una matrice più squisitamente rock. La passione per la sperimentazione e improvvisazione elettroacustica lo porta ad integrare i processi e le tecniche di trasformazione elettronica del suono nel suo bagaglio strumentale, nella ricerca costante di una creatività che travalichi il ruolo convenzionalmente “ritmico” dello strumento.

With a postponement of the screenings to September and a reduction in the programme, Euganea Film Festival presents itself to you again this year, for its almost twenty years. A Festival as always, far from computers or telephones, with our screens soaked in sky and stars, immersed in the breath of the trees. We are waiting for you, spectators and protagonists at the same time; because when a film ends and each of us becomes the interpreter of the most beautiful script we can write: our life.

Siamo convinti che il Cinema sia uno dei momenti fondamentali, essenziali e necessari per capire con gli occhi bene aperti quello che è stato e quello che vogliamo; per noi e per chi verrà. Tempi complicati senza dubbio, che impongono sacrifici e ci fanno capire il valore di ciò che abbiamo e che rischiamo di perdere. E questo il momento ideale per ragionare insieme, per sentire l’importanza di essere una comunità nella consapevolezza di quello che possiamo fare per noi e per gli altri. Con uno slittamento delle proiezioni a settembre e una riduzione del programma, Euganea Film Festival si presenta a voi anche quest’anno, per i suoi quasi vent’anni. Un Festival come sempre, lontano dai computer o dai telefoni, con i nostri schermi imbevuti di cielo e di stelle, immersi nel respiro degli alberi. Vi aspettiamo, spettatori e protagonisti allo stesso tempo; perché quando termina un film e ciascuno di noi che diventa interprete della più bella sceneggiatura che possiamo scrivere: la nostra vita. It will be a different edition than usual, the health emergency has imposed choices due to various conditions different from the starting ones: a more concentrated and modified version than expected, but which maintains the news and initiatives planned in the previous months.
It is a turning point, accompanied by the new artistic director Pier Paolo Giarolo, we want to mark the beginning of a more marked direction towards environmental issues that have always been close to our hearts. A Festival that turns our gaze towards the beauties and resources of our territory, to immerse ourselves in the nature that this beautiful land offers us and to breathe, and listen to the breath of the trees, the silence of the evening. A program that talks about cultures, landscapes, environmental crises and sustainable projects from all over the world to reflect on important issues that concern us closely, because we are inhabitants of the same planet.
The competitive structure of the Festival also changes: the only International Competition with documentaries, short and feature films, animated shorts, fiction films. A single section of the competition where, through different genres, the themes of the land and its products are central; trees, with their strength, but also their weakness and the need to protect them; climate change; pollution; the times of nature and the courage of those who still try to live keeping up with them; the value of places and relationships. There are many nuances of the issues addressed, attributable to a single common thread that unites them: the value and respect for the Earth, with a particular focus on Trees.
Not only films and events bring us closer to environmental issues, but also the choices of many places, which allow us to immerse ourselves in greenery, and at the same time to approach and enhance local realities, significant for the local community. With this spirit, we have chosen locations such as Agrimons, the first zero-km agrimarket in Italy, the Buzzaccarini Park in Monselice, the Gardens of Este and the Rustico of Villa Draghi, green spaces experienced by citizens as an oasis of peace and contact with nature.

Sarà un’edizione diversa dal solito, l’emergenza sanitaria ha imposto delle scelte dovute a varie condizioni differenti da quelle di partenza: una versione più concentrata e modificata rispetto alle previsioni, ma che mantiene le novità e le iniziative programmate nei mesi precendenti. 
É un anno di svolta, accompagnati dal nuovo direttore artistico Pier Paolo Giarolo, vogliamo segnare l’inizio di una direzione più marcata verso i temi ambientali che da sempre ci stanno a cuore. Un Festival che volge lo sguardo verso le bellezze e le risorse del nostro territorio, per immergerci nella natura, che questa bellissima terra ci offre e respirare, e ascoltare il respiro degli alberi, il silenzio della sera. Un programma che racconta culture, paesaggi, crisi ambientali e progetti sostenibili di tutto il mondo per riflettere su temi importanti che ci riguardano da vicino, perché siamo abitanti di uno stesso pianeta. 
Cambia anche la struttura competitiva del Festival: unico Concorso Internazionale con documentari, corti e lunghi, corti di animazione, film di fiction. Un’unica sezione di concorso dove, attraverso generi diversi, sono centrali i temi della terra e dei suoi prodotti; gli alberi, con la loro forza, ma anche la loro debolezza e la necessità di proteggerli; il cambiamento climatico; l’inquinamento; i tempi della natura e il coraggio di chi ancora prova a vivere stando al passo con essi; il valore dei luoghi e delle relazioni. Tante sono le sfumature delle tematiche affrontate, riconducibili ad un unico filo rosso che le unisce: il valore e il rispetto della Terra, con un focus particolare sugli Alberi. 
Non solo i film e gli eventi ci avvicinano alle tematiche ambientali, ma anche le scelte di molti luoghi, che ci permettono di immergerci nel verde, e al tempo stesso di avvicinarsi e valorizzare realtà locali, significative per la comunità locale. Con questo spirito abbiamo scelto location come Agrimons, il primo agrimercato d’Italia a Km Zero, il Parco Buzzaccarini di Monselice, i Giardini di Este e il Rustico di Villa Draghi spazi verdi vissuti dai cittadini come oasi di pace e contatto con la natura.&nbsp;

Like every year the Euganea Film Festival team expands and welcomes many girls and boys.
This year, more than ever, the opportunity is unique. For months the restrictions have forced us to lock ourselves in the house and enjoy movies only through our devices, depriving us of the pleasure of living the experience that only the cinema offers.
That's why this summer's Festival, from June 17 to July 4, 2021, will be unmissable: open-air locations, screenings in the midst of nature, auteur films, all within the characteristic framework of EFF composed of art exhibitions, special events, international guests and last but not least, the staff!
In these 20 years there have been many girls and boys who have worn the Festival shirt, giving their fundamental contribution and creating the atmosphere of fun that has always accompanied us.

The tasks to choose from are many:
- reception and management of the public;
- logistical support for installations, screenings, exhibitions, events;
- photoreport activities and backstage video production;
- guest management.

Come ogni anno la squadra di Euganea Film Festival si allarga e accoglie tantissime ragazze e ragazzi.
Quest’anno più che mai l’occasione è unica. Per mesi le restrizioni ci hanno imposto di chiuderci in casa e godere di film solo attraverso in nostri device, privandoci del piacere di vivere l’esperienza che solo il cinema offre.
Ecco perchè il Festival quest’estate, dal 17 giugno al 4 luglio 2021, sarà imperdibile: location all’aria aperta, proiezioni in mezzo alla natura, film d’autore, il tutto inserito nella caratteristica cornice di EFF composta da mostre d’arte, eventi speciali, ospiti internazionali e ultimo ma fondamentale, lo staff! In questi 20 anni sono state tantissime le ragazze e i ragazzi che hanno indossato la maglia del Festival, dando il loro fondamentale contributo e creando l’atmosfera di divertimento che da sempre ci accompagna.
 Le mansioni tra cui scegliere sono tante:
- accoglienza e gestione del pubblico;
- supporto logistico per allestimenti, proiezioni, esposizioni, eventi;
- attività di fotoreport e realizzazione video backstage;
- gestione ospiti.

Euganea Film Festival 2021 could not have started better.
The inauguration of the Festival in fact will take place Thursday, June 17 in one of the most beautiful location of the Euganean Hills, the Pianoro del Mottolone in Arquà Petrarca.&nbsp;
The evening will be dedicated to nature, immersed in a breathtaking and uncontaminated landscape also thanks to the new project of Euganea Movie Movement: the Solar Cinema.&nbsp;
An innovative and cutting-edge project. A van equipped with a photovoltaic system that will allow to cut down the emissions that a normal projection inevitably involves.&nbsp;
Following this direction, the choice of the special guest could only be one: Alice Rohrwacher.&nbsp;
The set of Lazzaro Felice, a film directed by Rohrwacher herself, is one of the first to adopt the EcoMuvi protocol, the international discipline for sustainability on the set of cinema and audiovisuals, which rewards concrete and proactive practices aimed at sustainability.
That's why on Thursday, June 17, 2021, on the occasion of the inauguration of EFF 2021 on the Pianoro del Mottolone, in Arquà Petrarca, there will be a screening of the film Lazzaro Felice with the participation of director Alice Rohrwacher.&nbsp;

Euganea Film Festival 2021 non poteva cominciare meglio. L’inaugurazione del Festival infatti si svolgerà giovedì 17 giugno in una delle più belle location dei Colli Euganei, il Pianoro del Mottolone ad Arquà Petrarca. 
La serata sarà quindi all’insegna della natura, immersa in un paesaggio mozzafiato e incontaminato anche grazie al nuovo progetto di Euganea Movie Movement: il Solar Cinema. 
Un progetto innovativo e all’avanguardia. Un furgone adibito di impianto fotovoltaico che permetterà di abbattere le emissioni che una normale proiezione inevitabilmente comporta. 
Seguendo questa direzione la scelta dell’ospite speciale non poteva che essere una: Alice Rohrwacher. 
Il set di Lazzaro Felice, film che vede alla regia proprio la Rohrwacher, è tra i primi ad adottare il protocollo EcoMuvi, il disciplinare internazionale per la sostenibilità sul set di cinema ed audiovisivi, che premia pratiche concrete e pro attive mirate proprio alla sostenibilità. 
Ecco perché giovedì 17 giugno 2021 in occasione dell’inaugurazione di EFF 2021 sul Pianoro del Mottolone, ad Arquà Petrarca, avrà luogo la proiezione del film Lazzaro Felice con la partecipazione dalla regista Alice Rohrwacher.&nbsp;
