Raggelante studio di umiliazione e ossessione che mescola mondo del circo, melodramma e sfumature simboliche, He Who Gets Slapped – capolavoro del maestro svedese Victor Sjöström – è sonorizzato dal vivo da Laura Augusdei (sax tenore, elettronica), Stefano Pilia (chitarra elettrica, elettronica) e Antonio Raia (sax, chalumeau, oggetti).&nbsp;
Laura Agnusdei è una sassofonista e musicista elettronica bolognese. Il suo primo album da solista Laurisilva (The Wormhole, 2019) si sviluppa su suoni e immaginari legati al funzionamento delle foreste. La sua attività dal vivo l’ha vista esibirsi in diversi festival in Europa, aprendo concerti per artisti come Colin Stetson e Moor Mother.
Stefano Pilia è un chitarrista, bassista e compositore. In diversi progetti, porta avanti una ricerca sempre tesa all'esperienza sonora come possibilità di indagine filosofica e creativa. Dal 2015, è una delle chitarre degli Afterhours, prima (2008-2016) aveva fatto parte di Massimo Volume.&nbsp;
Antonio Raia è un sassofonista, compositore e improvvisatore, di Napoli. Asylum è il suo primo album (Clean Feed Records, 2018). Dal 2020 lavora anche come compositore di colonne sonore per il cinema – si cita la collaborazione nel film Gli ultimi giorni dell’umanità di Enrico Ghezzi e Alessandro Gagliardo (Matango, Rai Cinema, Luce Cinecittà, 2022).&nbsp;
Simone Cavina è un batterista e percussionista nato a Imola e residente a Bologna. Da sempre alla ricerca di una cifra stilistica personale nell’approccio allo strumento, si appassiona presto al jazz e all’improvvisazione, ambito che concorre a definire fortemente il suo stile in sintesi e dialogo costante con una matrice più squisitamente rock. La passione per la sperimentazione e improvvisazione elettroacustica lo porta ad integrare i processi e le tecniche di trasformazione elettronica del suono nel suo bagaglio strumentale, nella ricerca costante di una creatività che travalichi il ruolo convenzionalmente “ritmico” dello strumento.

Godzilla is the King of the Monsters. Godzilla is an icon. Godzilla is everywhere.
The giant Japanese monster has stormed the mediasphere for seventy years, ever since it burst onto the scene in 1954 like a nuclear explosion—shaking up the Japanese cultural industry and embedding itself in the global collective imagination.

The original film—titled Gojira, a blend of gorira (“gorilla”) and kujira (“whale”)—directed by Ishirō Honda, is an apocalyptic parable that dredges up the suppressed trauma of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
It now takes on new life with a **unique live soundtrack performance by Marco Fasolo (Jennifer Gentle) and C+C=Maxigross**.

Ishirō Honda (1911–1993) was a Japanese director, best known for directing the original Godzilla (1954) and pioneering the kaiju genre. His work combines social critique and entertainment, leaving an indelible mark on Japanese cinema and global pop culture.

Marco Fasolo is a musician, composer, and producer. He is the founder and frontman of Jennifer Gentle, the first Italian band signed by the legendary label Sub Pop.

C+C=Maxigross is a psych-folk collective. In 2025, they released their ninth album, Nuova Era Oscura – Vol.1, on the Dischi Sotterranei label.

Following the success of last year’s edition, this year the first day of Nord/Est/Doc/Camp, Friday, September 12,  will once again be open to producers, authors, and professionals from the Triveneto area, even without a selected project.
This will be a free training opportunity where everyone will have the chance to attend expert presentations and ask questions.

The four professionals available to participants will be: Festival strategy: Daniela Persico, Artistic Director of the Bellaria Film Festival, programmer and Head of Special Projects at the Locarno Film Festival. Sales and rights: Tommaso Priante, former collaborator with some of the leading European documentary sales agents and founder of the international sales agency Luminalia. Distribution: Maud Corino, with over 15 years of experience in theatrical and online distribution, currently Head of Distribution at ZaLab Film. Audience design: Greta Nordio, an international expert in audience design since 2015, working as a consultant and trainer, notably with the TorinoFilmLab.

Participation in the Nord/Est/Doc/Camp 2025 open training day is free of charge.

Cinema Bestiale kicks off, the new project of Euganea Movie Movement dedicated to image and audiovisual education in schools of the Euganean Hills!
Capitralizing on the engaging power of audiovisual media, the project aims to promote and develop critical awareness of environmental, biodiversity, and ethical issues, with a particular focus on exploring the relationship between cinema and the animal kingdom.
Students and teachers from various schools will participate in a series of documentary filmmaking workshops (for middle and high school students) and animation filmmaking workshops (for primary and middle school students). These workshops will be led by professional animators and directors, who will actively involve students in all stages of the audiovisual production process. The aim is to introduce students to a deeper understanding of cinematic language on one hand, and environmental awareness on the other.&nbsp;
An important part of the project is dedicated to a film programme focused on the relationship between humans and nature, with specific screenings tailored to ages 6+, 10+, and 14+ at Cinema Corallo in Monselice, Teatro Perla in Torreglia, and Cinema Farinelli in Este. Film screenings will be accompanied by discussions to explore the intersection of cinema and environmental issues, featuring experts from environmental and sustainability-focused organizations.&nbsp;
The project also includes targeted training workshops for teachers, providing tools, methodologies, and thematic insights for direct use with students, including multimedia resources, film guides, and technical sheets.&nbsp;
Finally, some components of the Cinema Bestiale project will form a subprogram of the 24th Euganea Film Festival. During the festival, a series of activities specifically for participating students will be held, such as meet-and-greet sessions and masterclasses with filmmakers and directors featured in the Euganea Film Festival, as well as guided excursions focused on local biology and ethology. Additionally, a student jury (high school students) will be established to award the Cinemambulante prize to a film competing in the festival’s international short film category. The work of this jury will form an educational path in film analysis and critique throughout the school year.&nbsp;
Cinema Bestiale is funded by the Ministry of Education and Merit’s Cinema and Image for Schools fund, as well as by the Ministry of Culture – Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual Media.

Parte Cinema Bestiale, il nuovo progetto di Euganea Movie Movement per la formazione all'immagine e all'audiovisivo negli istituti scolastici dei Colli Euganei!
Mettendo a frutto il potenziale coinvolgente dell'audiovisivo, il progetto si propone di promuovere una consapevolezza critica dei temi legati all'ambiente, alla biodiversità e all'etica, esplorando in particolare la relazione tra il mondo del cinema e il regno animale.&nbsp;
Gli studenti e i professori degli istituti parteciperanno ad una serie di laboratori di cinema documentario (scuole secondarie di primo e secondo grado) e di cinema d'animazione (scuole primarie e scuole secondarie di primo grado) guidati da animatori e registi professionisti che coinvolgeranno attivamente gli studenti in tutte le fasi produttive della realizzazione di un prodotto audiovisivo. L'obiettivo è quello di avvicinare gli studenti ad una maggiore consapevolezza dei codici del linguaggio cinematografrafico da un lato e delle questioni ambientali dall'altro.
Una parte importante del progetto è dedicata ad una rassegna cinematografica con focus tematico sulla relazione uomo-natura e con sezioni dedicate ai 6+, ai 10+ e ai 14+ nelle sale cinematografiche Cinema Corallo di Monselice, Teatro Perla di Torreglia e del Cinema Farinelli di Este. Le proiezioni dei film sarano accompagnate da una serie di incontri che approfondiranno i temi legati al rapporto tra il cinema e l'ambiente, coinvolgendo esperti che appartengono ad enti e organizzazioni che si occupano di questioni ambientali e sulla sostenibilità.&nbsp;
Il progetto propone, inoltre, dei laboratori di formazione targetizzati per insegnanti per fornire strumenti, metodologie e approfondimenti tematici da utilizzare direttamente con gli studenti, attraverso la creazione di materiali multimediali, filmografie e schede tecniche.
Infine, alcune azioni del progetto Cinema Bestiale costituiranno un sottoprogramma della ventiquattresima edizione di Euganea Film Festival. All’interno del palinsesto della manifestazione festivaliera verranno implementate una serie di attività dedicate agli studenti e alle studentesse delle scuole coinvolte, quali incontri e masterclass con i autori e registi ospiti di Euganea Film Festival e escursioni guidate sulla biologia e l’etologia del territorio. Verrà inoltre costituita una giuria degli studenti (scuole secondarie di secondo grado) che assegnerà il premio Cinemambulante ad un film del concorso internazionale cortometraggi del XXIV Euganea Film Festival. Il lavoro della giuria costituirà un vero e proprio percorso di analisi e critica cinematografica da tenersi lungo l’anno scolastico.
